Chunky Trainers

Footwear gets a futuristic update this season

Say hello to supersize sneakers!

Arguably the IT shoes of spring/summer 18, the turbo trainer has reigned supreme across catwalks, from Louis Vuitton to Balenciaga; bouncy, bold, with a touch of 1990s Sci-Fi.

Since then, flamboyant footwear has made it into all of our favourite high street stores, including those at The Brunel and Regent Street!

We’ve done all the hard work and found a great selection of trainers for you, including a couple of wildcards for those of you looking to really push the boat out. Practical, comfy, and oh- so-stylish - what’s not to love?

Pink Lace Ups, £12
Primark

White trainers not really your thing? Add a pop of colour to your outfit with these chunky monkeys. The laced edges add detail and texture, and look especially fab with black sports leggings.

Silver Trainers, £19.50
Marks and Spencer

We don’t know about you, but we can’t resist a bit of metallic! Created in a classic, Converse-esque style, these trainers work well with almost anything. Pair with jeans and your favourite tee for a cool off-duty look.

Eten White Sneakers, £26
Miss Selfridge

If you want a subtle take on the trainer trend, then head on down to Miss Selfridge. These sneakers make a great additional to your wardrobe - the slight hint of gold gives a grown-up edge, and practically oozes chic.

Adidas Metallics,
£60 JD

Yep, more metallics. These sleek sneakers tap straight into the sports luxe trend, and are a more suitable colour for those of you that have a habit of scuffing your shoes (us included). Unsure what to wear with them? We’d recommend some striped track pants- you’ll look super chic and bang on trend.

Puma Phenom, £84.99
Sports Direct

Ok, we know the price is going up.... but how can you not love these?! New for SS18 from Puma are the Selena Gomez-styled chunky-souled Phenom range in a gorgeous dusty pink with a hint of satin.

Or these Puma Prowls?....

And if you fancy a splurge…

Michael Kors Trainer, £160
Flannels

A little pricier, but these bad boys are a sure way to stand out from the crowd. A gorgeous blend of textures and colours, with a super bouncy heel. The ultimate space-age sneaker!

And no, gents, we are forgetting you!...
